Closed-loop systems require a expansion vessel, an expansion vessel has a vessel in which air is locked inside a bladder or diaphragm. It screws into standard 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch threaded plumbing fittings. When pipes are filled with heat transfer fluid (water and glycol ),and the operating pressure of the system is set, the fluid will occupy a given volume on the temperature. As the fluid is heated by sunshine, it expands. This is why the expansion vessel is necessary. The expansion vessel allows the fluid to safely expand by compressing the air in the chamber.

The heat pipe solar collector are connected with existing water heating device. The selective coating on the inner cover of vacuum tube absorbs solar energy and transfer heat to heat pipe by aluminum fins, the medium in heat pipe changes into air and rise to condenser. Then heat pass through heat exchanger and meanwhile, vapour becomes liquid and go back to bottom of heat pipe. Continuous water heating in pipeline is based on the circulation of this heat transfer process.
